Crusty French Bread
1 1/3 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 T sugar
3 3/4 cup unbleached white flour
1 1/4 tsp yeast
1. Add ingredients to bread pan in order listed. Select dough cycle. When cycle is complete, turn out onto lightly floured surface. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
2. Divide dough in half. Shape into long skinny loaves and place on a baking stone sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rise 35 minutes, until doubled. Use a sharp knife to cut diagonal slashes in the top of the loaves.
3. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes, until loaves are browned and sound hallow when tapped.
