Machine Mixed French Bread - modified from Snow White
1 cup plus 1 tbsp warm water
1/2 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp active dry yeast
1. Place ingredients in bread maker in order listed. Select dough cycle. When complete, turn out onto lightly floured surface.
2. Knead gently and shape into french style loaf. (You are supposed to let the dough rest for 15 minutes before this step, but I forgot). Oops.
3. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
4. Bake at 350 for 15-25 minutes.

ReplyDeleteDo you always cook your bread in the oven or do you have a bread maker?
